The Volkswagen Vento has captured the C-segment market share very successfully. A segment, which was led by the Honda City till a few months ago now sees the domination of the Volkswagen Vento. Honda has realized that a change in strategy is vital till a diesel powered City doesn’t debut. Thus the Japanese automaker first reduced prices of the City by 6%, followed by news of a City facelift debuting this festive season. Volkswagen has realized the potential dangers and is ready to unleash the facelifted Vento this October, 2011. This will prevent the City from taking any advantage and will help Volkswagen maintain market share over the City.
So what does the 2012 Volkswagen Vento have? Not much to start with. The engines remain untouched and there are no mechanical changes on the upcoming Vento facelift. However Volkswagen will offer more features in the Vento including steering mounted audio controls, a better music system and cruise control. The new Vento will also feature upgraded head and tail lights with smoked effect and new colours. A small price hike is also expected for the facelifted Vento but not by much. This will ensure the car is competitive against new rivals such as the Hyundai Verna and Ford Fiesta.

I own a 2011 VW Vento. Now its not fare to upgrade so quick. i mean this car has nothing but a battery charging socket and a lousy I C E.
Now I need VW people to call up all the current owners of Vento and upgrade this shit asap.
I agree with you. Atleast they should now announce the launch by now.
Pradeep, its still two months away. Why do you think they will announce the launch now?
How true is this ? Any authentic sources ?
I had booked Vento which was supposed to be delivered in October 2011 but due to some personal reasons i have posponded the deliver to January 2012 so my question is are these changes or the report on changes true and will i get the new vento will all the new features when i take the deliver though i have booked the vehical in June 2011
I have booked Vento in June. I am getting it by this month end. This is with new features for which dealer has charged me 35,000 extra. This is not yet confirmed by company. Just preliminary calculation from dealer side. Formal new pricing is not yet out from company.
Rajendra, its highly doubtful Volkswagen will hike prices, considering its sales are declining faster than you can blink.
Prateek, yes you will if you tell them in advance that you want a particular month manufactured car.
35,000 is collected as per VW price increased on their vehicle due to the input costs increase. I doubt it is for facelift. No official info yet.
Vijay, they cannot hike prices by Rs. 35,000/- because that is alot of amount.
They have increased the price by almost 41,000 RS. on Road. I have paid additional 41,000 Rs. to get my vehicle. VW is one of the most unprofessional organization I came across. They have increased the price in the name of feature enhancement. The features they have introduced are
Reverse parking Sensors, new stereo which was earlier used in Jetta and steering wheel controls.(Only volume and music track change is possible thru it. No blue tooth connectivity)These features, one can get externally in approx. 15,000 Rs. VW never informed about this to me or to any other customer and suddenly increased the price. Now VW is costing 10.92 lacs Rs. on road in Pune. I am trying for some one from VW to at least reply to my queries but no luck.
Rajendra, Volkswagen does have this problem of not being too customer focused. They are least bothered. I guess writing a mail to them can be a direction you can take.
HI Fas they have totally increased the prices by Rs.74000 since July. which included the second hike of Rs.44000/- when i booked it, it costed me around 10.6 lacs now it will cost me 11.34 lacs as discussed with the dealer
Pratik,
What features have been added in the car as per your dealer? Are you getting stereo with navigation and touch screen? Is blue tooth connectivity is available in your model? Mine is Diesel high line.
Prateek, yes prices have been increased. They keep increasing diesel prices because of diesel being more in demand and they think they can leverage it.
I WONDER IS THIS THE SAME VW THAT WE COME ACROSS KNOWINGLY. I DON’T KNOW WHY THEY TRY TO PROVE THAT THEY ARE THE UNDISPUTED POOR INNOVATORS AMONG THE CUSTOMERS
will these head lights and tail light changes also come to polo as i m planning to book it……please clear………and are there any other changes coming to polo tdi trendline next year….??
Sam, changes to the Polo Trendline unlikely.
is polo the best car or i should go for new swift……..which is better in terms of ride quality, build quality, overall driving dynamics, space, ngine performance and premium image ?……please advice……r the new blackened headlights nd new tail lamps coming to polo ?
this news is not true..when i enquired about the facelift of vento to the dealers in cochin and kottayam they informed me that it will not undergo for any facelift in india.the company officials had also denied this news.the advanced features like audio system with usb, parking sensors, steering wheel audio controls are now available in the vw vento diesel highline..
Hi Faisal,
Any updates on new vento w/ facelift (or features), I’m planning to take this car in next 1 week. Is it better to wait to get this car in some time or now.!
so far not heard they continuing the same offer as in oct 2011 in Nov too..
thx in advance..
Saurabh, if your not in a hurry, its better to wait. The Vento facelift is due anytime, but no clue what is causing the delay.
