Volkswagen has launched the new Beetle and the Touareg in India. The new Beetle will is priced at Rs 20.45 lakhs whereas the Touareg is priced at Rs. 51.85 lakhs (all prices ex-Showroom, Delhi). The new Beetle is equipped with a 2.0 litre 4 cylinder petrol engine with an output of 115hp at 5400Rpm. It is paired with a 6 speed automatic transmission. It comes equipped with 4 airbags, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stabilization Programme (ESP) and engine immobilizers. It is equipped with a 6 CD changer, power steering, body coloured exterior mirror housings, 15” alloy wheels, tailgate handle and heat insulating tinted glass.
The Touareg offers 4×4 permanent All wheel drive and comes equipped with 8 airbags as standard.The tall aggressive stance is complimented by a robust 3 Litre V6 TDI (diesel) engine with 6 speed DSG gear box. The Touareg develops power of 240hp at 4000-4400Rpm. The SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.8 seconds and comes with electric sliding sunroof, electric 12 way adjustable seats, electrically folding outside rear view mirrors, leather seat upholstery and 230V power socket in rear luggage compartment. The vehicle offers 45 degree hill climbing ability, 35 degree side slope angle and impressing wadding depth of 500mm.

New VW cars looks really nice. Design, features and numbers on both cars are great…diesel engine Touareg sounds really interesting, in fact, it’s irresistible!

Car makers are still living in the past with CD changers. Time to move on to pen drives.

Both these cars are priced little high with respect to Indian Market.
