The Piaggio Group also showcased two superbikes at the ongoing Auto Expo 2012. The first one is not alien to us and has been displayed earlier as well. Known as the Aprilia RSV4 Factory, this superbike uses a 1000cc, 65 degree, V-4 engine to produce 180 HP of power at 12,250 RPM and 115 Nm at 10,000 RPM. Mated to a 6-speed gearbox, the RSV4 Factory weighs just 179 kgs and runs on 120/70 ZR 17 tyres (front), 200/55/ZR 17 tyres (rear). The RSV4 Factory’s APRC package features Traction Control, Wheelie Control, Launch Control and Quick Shift. Piaggio has started taking bookings for the Aprilia RSV4 Factory in India. The RSV4 Factory has been priced at Rs. 13 lakhs for the base variant and Rs. 18 lakh for the top end variant. The RSV4 Factory deliveries will start by the end of next month. The company is very positive about the sales of its superbikes and will introduce the Vespa brand of scooters in 2012 to capitalise on the growing two-wheeler market in the country.

Piaggio will launch the Aprilia RSV4 Factory on the 20th of January, 2011. Powered by a 65-degree 999.6 cc, V-4 engine, the company’s first production four-cylinder engine produces 177 hp of power at 12,500 rpm and 115 Nm of torque at 10,000 Rpm. The RSV4 Factory weighs in at 179kgs thanks to carbon fiber and features dual 320 mm diameter floating discs with Brembo monobloc radial 4-piston calipers at the front and 220 mm diameter disc with Brembo 2-piston calipers at the rear. The first Aprilla showroom will be at Pune and the bike RSV4 Factory is expected to cost around Rs. 18 lakhs.
