Yesterday Bajaj Auto pulled the wraps of the Discover 125 ST and today is Honda’s chance to launch their mass market motorcycle. We are at the launch of the Honda Dream Yuga motorcycle in Delhi and have learned that the brand ambassador for Honda Motorcycles is Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar. Honda has reported paid Akshay Kumar Rs. 50 crore for a 5 year deal. The complete line-up of Honda 2-wheelers is present here. The press conference has just now commenced. Keita Maramatsu, President and CEO, Honda 2-Wheelers India has taken the stage. Honda is setting up a new plant in Naraspura, Karnataka. Production at the new plant will start by 2013 and will increase total annual capacity to 40 lakh units. Honda has come up with a new slogan – ‘Sach Kardenge Sapne’. The company has also come up with a new advertisement, which includes Akshay Kumar.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has just sent us an invite for the launch of the Dream Yuga on the 15th of May 2012. The Japanese automaker will also announce the brand ambassador of the Dream Yuga. Mr. Keita Maramatsu (President and CEO) of Honda 2-wheelers India will also launch the company’s new corporate direction. The company claims that the Honda Dream Yuga will be the first mass market Honda motorcycle in India. There is little doubt how the important the Dream Yuga is for Honda to become the number 1 two-wheeler manufacturer in India by the end of this decade.

Honda Motorcycles has gone aggressive post its break up with Hero. The Japanese automaker had showcased a range of products at the 2012 Auto Expo, which the company plans to get to India to go from number three to numero uno in the next few years. One such product (the 2012 Honda CBR250R) has been launched already, while the next big launch from Honda is the CBR150R by the end of this month. The Japanese 2 wheeler manufacturer, Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India Limited (HMSI) was one stall worth visiting at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo. Honda surprised the crowd with its product portfolio and some new models that will be launched in a few months time. The CBR150R was a real surprise considering the fact that there weren’t any strong rumours of this bike coming to India so soon. Among the others models, one which caught a lot of attention of the on-lookers was the new commuter bike from Honda, named the Dream Yuga. First off, the bike is not something that can boast of killer looks like its sibling, the CB Twister. The Honda Dream Yuga, to be frank seems to be heavily inspired from the design of the Honda CB Shine. Looks aside, the bike is powered by a 110cc engine that produces 9 PS of power at 7500 RPM and claims to deliver a class leading fuel efficiency of 72 kmpl. [click to continue…]
