Looks like recall time is not yet over and all of a sudden major automobile companies are announcing one. However, Ford India hasn’t made any official announcement nor sent out any press release yet but is recalling the Fiesta silently through its dealers. The company is replacing AC thermostat on the Fiesta which never seems to cut-off on high/low mode and keeps running continuously. The recalled Fiesta belongs to a batch of cars manufactured in the last three-six months, so if your car belongs to that batch, your Ford dealer will get in touch with you for replacement.

Ford India has launched yet another limited edition of the Ford Fiesta. The 2010 Limited Edition gets a few add-ons and is priced at Rs. 5.90 lakhs for the 1.6 Duratec and Rs. 6.69 lakhs for the 1.4 Duratorq (all prices ex-showroom, Mumbai). The 1.6 Duratec petrol 2010 Limited Edition is available in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, New Delhi / NCR region, Kolkatta, Guwahati and Tinsukhia while the 1.4 Duratorq diesel 2010 Limited Edition will be available in the rest-of-India.

Ford India has launched yet another special edition of the Fiesta, priced at Rs 6.44 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The new Ford Fiesta 1.6 ZXI will be available only in the petrol variant. The extra features in the special edition include leather interiors, metallic finish on trims, cubic finish centre and floor console.

Ford India has given the Fiesta SXI a slight upgrade with a new look in chrome and silver finish. The new front-fascia with the chrome façade and dramatic crystal barrel headlamps is visually strong. Inside, the new Fiesta SXI surrounds its occupants with grain beige leather interiors, mahogany wood-finished center console with brushed aluminum finish adorning knobs, vents and the steering wheel. The 2 DIN MP3 player has Aux-in capability.

“The new Fiesta SXI will make a statement with its premium new style persona. Based on our customer feedback, the new Fiesta SXI has been introduced to appeal to the young, suave and style-oriented professionals who want their cars to reflect their individual personality, signifying success, confidence and accomplishments,” said Nigel Wark, executive director, Marketing, Sales & Service, Ford India.

The new Fiesta SXI comes with the advanced and efficient 1.6 Duratec (petrol) and 1.4 Duratorq (common-rail, turbo diesel) engines.  The top-end SXI variant has been priced at Rs. 6.99 lakhs (petrol) and Rs. 7.99 lakhs (diesel) (ex-showroom, New Delhi) and will be available at Ford dealerships across India starting 3rd August.

Ford has launched a limited edition of the Fiesta. The limited edition is available only in 1.6L petrol and is priced at Rs. 5.55 lakhs (ex-showroom). The limited edition is a EXi variant and comes to around 6.45 lakhs OTR, Mumbai. The Limited Edition Ford Fiesta comes with 2 DIN MP3 player, driver seat adjustment, reading lamps and the fantastic 1.6 Duratech engine.

Ford India has upgraded the ZXi variants of its Fiesta at no additional cost to the customer. The ZXi is now available with ABS (with Electronic Brake Distribution) standard as well as front fog lamps and an MP3 player.

The upgraded petrol ZXi has been priced at Rs 6.34 lakhs while the diesel variant is available for Rs 7.32 lakhs (prices are ex-showroom Delhi). The new upgrade brings the number of Fiesta variants with ABS standard up to five. Ford had earlier offered the feature standard on its SXi variants as well as its 1.6 S variant.

Ford has unveiled the Ford Verve Sedan Concept and the new Fiesta will take lots of cues from it. Expected in 2010, the New Ford Fiesta will be equipped with a variable valve timing 1.6-Litre VVT (Variable Valve Timing) engine and this will conquer its advanced features like Ford Sync (It is a factory-installed, in-car communications and entertainment system) developed by Ford and Microsoft. The elucidation of kinetic design on the four-door body has given the Fiesta sedan an uniqueness while maintaining the emotional appeal of its five-door sibling.

Ford India is trying its best to push the Fiesta in times when sales are dwindling. They are offering the Fiesta at a special price only for 10 days starting today the 3rd of December till 12th of December.

To sum up, the new Fiesta retains all the positives of the old one but is more appealing to the heart as much as its to the head and dare i say, its as much fun to drive as the Old Honda City Vtec.

The interiors have been revamped too with a new instrument cluster and the top of the line SXI model gets soft leather seats and mahogany wood central console as standard.

The 1.4 Duratec engine has been discontinued with the 1.6 Duratec and the 1.4 Duratorq being the only engine options now. Ford has also remapped the 1.6 litre engine and claims similar fuel efficiency as the discontinued 1.4 litre petrol. There is still no sign of the 1.6 litre Diesel that we have been hearing for sometime now.

Safety has been given through once over too with the top end SXI’s having twin-front air bags, ABS, EBD and inertia reel seat belts as standard.

There’s an all new sports model 1.6 S too. with a subtle body kit and tweaked suspension which is tuned to give more feedback to the sportly inclined. The sports model also features fatter and lower 195/55 R15 rubber, chrome tipped exhaust, a rear spoiler and 15 inch alloys.
