Lamborghini claims that the 2012 Aventador LP700-4 supercar is at least two generations ahead of any supercar currently on the market. MotorBeam spent some time with this car on the F1 Yas Marina track in Abu Dhabi in a bid to find out the truth.

Lamborghini has pulled off the wraps of the Aventador J, which takes open top motoring to an entirely new level. Simply put, this Aventador version has no windows at all, nor any roof and does away with all the bells and whistles to concentrate on what matters, SPEED. But this one-off extravaganza is not set for any museum and is put on sale for a price which we could care less about has been sold by €2.1 million. But what we totally care for is the 6.5-litre V12 engine which produces 700 PS of power in a supercar which weighs only 1575 kgs. Exclusive Motors has announced the launch of the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 in India. This Italian bull is priced at Rs. 3.69 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi) and can be yours if you hurry and book one. The company has allocated very few Aventadors for India and has its hands full meeting demand internationally. This 2-door, 2-seater supercar replaces the decade old Murcielago in the Lamborghini line-up. The Aventador features a monocoque layout made entirely of carbon fiber. Formula 1 style suspension is expected to be class leading. The Italian hypercar maker plans to produce a total of 4000 units of the Aventador, till its replacement comes along in 2021.

This is the season of speed, of expensive machinery growling at high RPM. Welcome to India, a country where the rich are getting pampered with new supercar launches every now and then. Recently all sports car makers have unleashed their beasts on our roads. Yesterday it was Caterham, three days later it will be Ferrari with the FF and six days from now, Lamborghini will launch its hypercar, the Aventador LP700-4. This Italian bull has already arrived in India and will be officially launched on the 3rd of November. How do you get a car as wide as the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 inside an art museum in Rome? Either you break the walls or you simply assemble the car inside the museum room.
