Maruti Suzuki will sell its 2 lakhth Estilo in India this month. The company has started to export the car to South Asian markets including Malaysia and Indonesia (the car is known as Karimun here), where the Estilo has become one of the top five selling cars. The company dominates these markets, just like it does in India with four out of five best sellers being from the Maruti Suzuki portfolio. To celebrate this milestone, the company has launched a limited edition version of the car, dubbed the Estilo Vogue. The limited edition Estilo has accessories labeled with “Vogue” branding on seat covers, floor mats, etc. Stop yawning, will you!

Maruti Suzuki has launched a special edition of the Estilo. The Estilo Edge is a limited edition of the Estilo available in both Petrol and CNG versions. The Maruti Suzuki Estilo Edge is based on the LXi variant of the car and is priced at Rs. 3.24 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) and Rs. 3.84 lakhs (on-road, Delhi). The Estilo Edge Special Edition is powered by the same 3-cylinder, 998cc K-Series engine that produces 67bhp of power and 90Nm of torque.

AMW, the automotive company that markets Maruti Suzuki cars in Sri Lanka has launched the 2010 Zen Estilo. The Zen Estilo represents Suzuki Maruti’s attempt to meet the aspirations of the Sri Lankan customer. The Zen Estilo is powered by a 998cc K-series engine with a rated fuel efficiency of 18.2 kmpl according to Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI). Although we don’t have much information about the pricing of the car, we expect Maruti to offer value to our neighbours.

Maruti Suzuki India has launched an all new Estilo with the latest K-series engine which powers the Maruti A-Star too. The Maruti Estilo is being offered at an introductory price between Rs 3.12 lakh and Rs 3.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new Estilo is said to give 18.2kmpl of mileage according to ARAI. Maruti Suzuki has dropped the very successful Zen name from the Estilo as it does not suit the current taste of Indian youth, to whom this car is targeted.

“Product upgradation is an integral part of Maruti Suzuki’s business strategy and future plans. This is a way to include feedback from the customers and offer better products that match their tastes,” Maruti Suzuki India MD and CEO Shinzo Nakanishi said.

The Estilo gets new styling at the front which includes a revised grill, new headlamps, new bumper with integrated fog lamps and new wheelcaps. The interiors remain largely unchanged but with subtle touches in terms of color and the two tone dash. The new Estilo gets driver side airbag, ABS, foldable rear seats, electrically adjustable ORVM, remote keyless entry, digital fuel indicator, power steering, power windows, front fog lamps, rear fog lamps rear defogger and a revised gearbox.

The new Estilo is available in eight colours – superior white, silky silver, dusky brown, Ecru beige, quantum orange, bright red, emerald blue and midnight black. The new Estilo is being produced from MSI’s Gurgaon plant, which also manufactures the A-Star and the Ritz.

Maruti Suzuki will give the Zen Estilo a new lease of life with the launch of the all new Zen Estilo on the 23rd 25th of this month. The car gets rid of the Zen name and though the car is not exactly all new which Maruti so claim it to be, it is indeed a step in the right direction. The new Zen Estilo will be equipped with the latest generation 1.0 K-Series engine from the A-Star. Along with the engine change will be cosmetic mods to enhance the appeal of the Zen Estilo with new headlights, grille, tail lights, bumpers and slight revision to the interiors. The car will be available in three variants – LXi, VXi and ZXi.

Maruti will phase out the current F10D engine of the Zen Estilo and will plant the 1.0 K-Series engine in it. The 1.0 K-Series engine is a 3 cylinder unit which does duty in the A-Star and is known for being fuel efficient. Along with the engine change, Maruti will also do minor cosmetic changes to the exterior as well as the interior to keep the car looking fresh. Remember due to Bharat IV norms Maruti has no option but to change the engines in almost all its cars.

Maruti has been trying to push the Zen Estilo. First it killed the legendary Zen, by launching the Estilo and now in order to push sales they came up with a new sports variant. There are huge discounts on the Estilo, so if you don’t mind the odd looking car, you can get a bargain. We wouldn’t go in to much detail and would leave it to the pics to do the talking. So can you differentiate between the sports and the other variants of the Estilo? We are sure Maruti can come up with better sports variants.

Maruti has launched a limited edition version of the Zen Estilo. The new version is called the sports and Maruti advertises it saying that it comes with striking sporty graphics, spacious interiors, upholdstered in a new sporty fabric, pulsating powerful music system, designer dashboard and a host of other exciting features. The sports is priced at Rs. 3.84 lacs ex showroom and is positioned between the LXi and VXi. Basically Maruti has enhanced the LXi.

However we are not so sure of what Maruti is thinking. How can the sports have more space? Did they extend the wheelbase? Well no, this is all marketting gimmick. The Estilo is the previous generation Wagon R and when the competition is such that the current generation Wagon R is struggling to sell how will the Estilo sell? Well it simply won’t.
