Renault Koleos

Renault has launched the Koleos in India, priced at Rs. 22.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The Koleos returns a mileage of 13.7 kmpl (ARAI certified) and 4-wheel drive system. The French automaker is targetting the premium SUV market which currently represents 27% of the total SUV market. The Koleos is powered by a 2-liter DCi engine which produces 150 PS of power at 4000 RPM and 320 Nm of torque at 2000 RPM. Mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox, the softroader is available with 2+2 year 80,000 kms warranty and 24×7 road side assistance. The Koleos has received 5 star safety rating from EuroNCAP. Renault plan to expand to 40 dealers by the end of the year and 100 dealers in 55 cities by the end of 2012. The company managed to sell 700 units of the Fluence till date. [click to continue…]

Recently Renault put the website of the Koleos live, teasing us with the salient features of the upcoming crossover. Now amidst a launch packed month, there is another car which will be launched next week. The Koleos will be officially launched on the 8th of September, 2011 in New Delhi. We already have covered all the details of the car and await the official release of the prices. A starting price of Rs. 20 lakhs is expected for the Koleos which will compete with the likes of the Chevrolet Captiva and Mitsubishi Outlander. [click to continue…]

The next vehicle from Renault to be launched in India is the Koleos. The launch is next month and the company has put forward the first details of the India bound Koleos. The Renault website now showcases two models, one the Fluence while the other is the Koleos. The new Renault Koleos will be powered by a 2.0-liter diesel motor mated to a 6-speed automatic. The softroader features Bose sound system, leather seats, cruise control and 4-wheel drive system. The Renault Koleos was scheduled for an October launch, however Renault has preponed the launch to September. The French automaker will be offering us the latest generation of the Koleos, which will rival the Honda CR-V and upcoming Chevrolet Captiva. The Koleos is nothing but the Nissan X-Trail underneath (uses the same platform) and will be powered by a 2.0-liter CRDi motor producing 150 BHP of power at 4000 RPM and 320 Nm at 2000 RPM. Renault doesn’t plan to shake the segment with the Koleos and is using a top down strategy in India. The Renault Koleos is the next vehicle which will be launched by the French automaker in India. The company has just given it a facelift, after only 3-years and we will be getting the new version. The 2012 Renault Koleos features a redesigned exterior and interior. Looking like a strangled cousin of the Hyundai Tucson, the Koleos does show its Samsung genes in its styling (thanks to the Renault-Nissan-Samsung collaboration in Korea). The Renault Koleos, being based on the X-Trail platform will utilize powertrains from it, including the use of the M9R all aluminum diesel motor.
