The 2012 Detroit Motor Show, which is also known as the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) opened to the public today and is amongst the biggest auto events in North America. The first edition dates back to 1907 and is an annual event. This year there have been alot of production and concept car debuts. The North American car and truck of the year awards were declared as well, which go to the Hyundai Elantra and Range Rover Evoque respectively. Some of the cars on display include the Ford Fusion / Mondeo, Chevrolet Code 130R, Chevrolet Tru 140S, Dogde Dart, 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S, Volkswagen Bugster, Toyota FCV-R, Toyota Prius C, Honda NSX Concept, Acura RDX, Acura ILX, Buick Encore, Honda Accord Concept, Maserati Kubang and Chrysler 700C. 2011 Autocar Performance Show - Click above for HQ picture gallery
The 2011 edition of the Autocar Performance Show (APS) is here (17-20th November, 2011) with this year’s being the biggest till date. On display are cars from each and every manufacturer in the country along with the presence of exotics. The same is the case with 2-wheelers, with superbikes being present in abundance. The APS is being held at MMRDA Ground, Bandra-Kurla Complex, Mumbai and entry ticket is Rs. 100/-. Maruti Suzuki Autocross is present too, which gives you a chance to drive your car around the dirt track. So if you happen to be in Mumbai, you should visit the show, as its a must visit for all auto enthusiasts. Not in Mumbai or too busy to attend it? The Hyderabad International Auto Show has just come to an end today. This annual event is currently in its third year and was organized from the 28-30th of October, 2011. The Hyderabad International Convention Centre had organized this event, with support from All India Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) and the Andhra Pradesh Motor Vehicle Dealers Association (APMVDA). But don’t worry if you missed it as Asif Quraishi was kind enough to send us the complete coverage from the show. Times of India has organised this years Mumbai International Motor Show. The 2011 Mumbai International Motor Show was nothing great and featured the regular cars which you can see by visiting your nearest dealership. However it was the bikes which make the visit worth it. The debut of the Vespa LX 125 and Aprilia RSV4 Factory would be the sole reason to visit the exhibit. The 11th Indian Automobile Trade Fair commenced today in Pune (website here) and we attended it. It is one of the worst automobile events we have come across in recent times. There was lack of participation by a majority of the automakers with only Yamaha being the bike manufacturer. When it cames to cars only Nissan, Honda, Mahindra and Hyundai were present and when it was their dealership, not the company. The only attraction at the Fair was the Honda Goldwing, other than that, the entry ticket of Rs. 20 is best saved for a rainy day. [click to continue…]

The 2010 Autocar Performance Show kicked off yesterday at the MMRDA grounds in Bandra, Mumbai. We have got the complete coverage for you in this post, so in case you miss it, you really haven’t missed much. However the show is worth visiting to check out the Lamborghini Gallardo, Ferrari 599, Audi R8, Porsche Panamera, Nissan 370Z and the recently launched Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG on display. Also worth visiting is the Mahindra 4X4 section, Honda Stunt Biking Show (first time in India) and JBL Beach party. The Autocar Performance Show is on till the 21st of this month and sees the debut of the Volvo XC60 and Mitsubishi Evo X. Other exhibitors include Rolls Royce, Lamborghini, BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mercedes Benz, Honda, Toyota, Hyundai, Nissan, Volvo, GM, Mitsubishi and DC Design.
