Lightbulb Why Tata Aria is not Selling in India ?

Nothing is Going Well as of now the Tata's Way. Recently TOI announced Tata vehicle sales fell by 15% in month of September-October. On models Such as Tata Aria, Safari, Nano etc.

Even Tata reduced 2 lakh Discount on Aria & even Launched Tata Aria Pure A Stripped down version for the Taxi Market. Will this turn the tide in favour of Tata. We are yet to see.

So Tata lost it's Position to Mahindra & Mahindra as the India's largest car Manufacturing company in India. Even Ratan Tata Himself Showed some worried face as he was praising M&M for this Achievement.

So let alone Tata Nano. Now Tata Aria which is the Flagship Model of Tata Company is going to be an another failure ? This is the question many are asking today. Is anything Tata has to do to save the day ?

What I think is Tata has made some fabulous & magnificient Concepts but has failed badly from making it into an mass production vehicle. Even Tata is not considering on Making Aria Mini to compete with Quantos. Any Suggestion Guys ?

Instead of losing the Taxi badge from their foreheads, they are now even launching upmarket vehicles for the taxi market, I fear that if Tata Safari Storme or the Manza Club would fail like Aria, they wont shy away from brining them into the taxi brigade, foolish step by them for launching 4x2 Pure variant, We know that it would sell better than the current model, but it would also tarnish its image.

TATA should not think about the taxi market for Aria. Its the best TATA car ever and they should not loose its class.

I think wrong pricing & TATA family (smiling front grill) are the 2 most important points which are responsible for failure of Aria.

I hope TATA will come up good facelift of Aria soon.

What is wrong with smiling grille Punter? That is the Tata design DNA has Audi has Bavarian chin, BMW has Kidney grille, Mahindra has seven gap grille and so on

IMO that smiling grill doesn't go well with Aria, it looks amazing on Vista. Look at Storm and Aria, which SUV looks great a SUV with smiling grill and with muscular front grill?

Price, Price and Price killed Aria.
Also Pricing of Mahindra cars killed Aria ;)

Aria is a crossover and is also advertised as above and you completely forget the Lada Niva (bare bones SUV from Russia which has a smiling grille). Also Toyota Fortuner and Mazda Tribute look butch with smiling grille.

Personlly I dont like the smiling grill on Aria and design cues are also not impressive. In one line Aria does not look like Rs. 15-16 lakh car.

Though I would completely agree with you that it does not feel and look like a 16 lakh car, look at other options within 16 lakh budget, which are 10 times better than Aria.

The Tata Aria is a fantastic product. Its the best Tata product too. However the optimistic pricing led to the vehicle not being accepted in the market. Once you start reducing prices, people start having perception that prices will fall further. Its best to price it low at launch and then move up rather than the other way around.
