The Korean car manufacturer, Hyundai has unveiled the facelifted version of it’s sought after hatchback, the Hyundai i20 at the currently on-going Geneva Motor Show. We had been carrying speculations about a facelifted version of the i20 coming to the market soon and finally the company has pulled the wraps off the vehicle. The 2013 Hyundai i20 has been revised both from the exterior and the interior. Hyundai hopes that the new design language will be appealing to a newer and younger group of car buyers. We had already revealed some of the official pictures that were leaked before the official launch of the car.

At the front, the car gets the same fluidic treatment which includes a revised front bumper, front headlights and front grille. However, the fluidic treatment has been kept slightly low compared to the other Hyundai fluidic models. The front headlights get LED lamps with daytime running lights which is a nice addition. In terms of dimensions, the facelifted Hyundai i20 has grown slightly longer. Apart from the refurbished exteriors and interiors, the car also receives a host of engine options. The Hyundai i20 gets the option of 1.1 and 1.4 litre diesel units and 1.25 and 1.4 litre petrol units. The 1.1 litre diesel unit produces 75 PS of power and 180 Nm of torque and combines Hyundai’s latest Start-Stop Technology.

On the other hand, the 1.4 litre petrol unit produces 100 PS of power. Hyundai has also kept environmental friendliness in mind during the development of the engines. This is one of the reasons why Hyundai has dropped the previous 1.6 litre units for the new lower displacement engines. The 1.1 litre diesel unit is one of the least polluting with 84g/km of CO2 emissions. The 1.4 litre diesel unit emits 96g/km while 1.25 litre gasoline unit produces 109g/km of CO2 emissions. The 1.2 litre gasoline unit gets a 5 speed manual transmission while the 1.4 litre unit will get either a 6 speed manual or a 4 speed automatic. For the European market, All New Hyundai i20 will be manufactured in Turkey and India, and made available with a range of 10 exterior colours – two solid and eight metallic or pearl. Customer choices include Coral White, Twilight Blue, Electric Red, Black Diamond and Ember Grey.
