The Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS, when launched four years ago, was an instant hit among Pulsar fans, and with an ABS version on the cards, we can expect another ‘bang for the buck’ product from Bajaj.

The Pulsar 200 NS was one of the first bikes from Bajaj to be launched that featured an all new 200cc motor sourced from KTM, the result of their famous partnership with the Austrian motorcycle maker. Bajaj later used the same engine across all its flagship offerings like the Pulsar AS 200 and more recently the RS 200. However it was only the latter that received ABS, even though only as an option.

Well that is all set to change if the latest sightings of an updated Pulsar 200 NS are anything to go by. The 200cc naked street-fighter was spotted testing just on the outskirts of Pune city in Maharashtra, and more importantly it had an ABS tone ring fitted along with the front disc. However the ABS on the Pulsar 200 NS will, in all likelihood, be only a single channel unit, similar to the one seen on the Pulsar RS 200. Another interesting detail is that a second, non-ABS Pulsar 200 NS was also spotted testing at the same location.

As mentioned earlier, the Pulsar 200 NS was an instant hit among most motorcycle enthusiasts and critics but somehow failed to get a major update since its launch. This is probably why an update is long due and most likely on the cards as well. Also, with cut throat competition it faces from the soon to be launched TVS Apache 200 ABS and the KTM Duke 200, it is the only logical move from the Chakan based manufacturer.

The current iteration of the Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS is powered by a 200cc, liquid-cooled engine that makes 23.17 BHP of power and 18.3 Nm of torque. It is however, less likely for the latest bike to undergo any mechanical changes since the 2016 version of the KTM Duke 200 comes with the same engine as the previous generation. But with the addition of ABS coupled with competitive pricing, it would make the Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS a hard to decline machine for riders who seek value.
