The Honda City has been selling very well but the only flaw Honda cars in India have is, that they come only with a petrol powerplant. However Honda says a diesel city is on the cards. Honda India has confirmed that it is developing a small displacement turbodiesel engine, that can power the Honda City and other small cars. The 1.5 liter diesel powerplant will be build to produce power in various stages of tune ranging from 65bhp to 100bhp. The engines are expected to power the upcoming Jazz hatchback as well.

With the strategy of premium pricing followed by HONDA, the price of these diesel engines by HONDA will be going north….
