An indefinite strike called by 14 Public Sector Unit (PSU) oil companies have lead to the disruption of production at four refineries of Indian Oil Corporation and Oil and Natural Gas Corporation. Drivers from Mumbai and Delhi reported of the non-availability of petrol and diesel at their local pumps and have been tanking up their vehicles wherever possible.

Media reports are also coming in of PSU officials being suspended by their respective employers as well as being arrested for defying court orders to call off the strike.
