Hyundai December Sales Increase

Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) registered an overall 55.7% growth in December 2008. Domestic sales grew 19.3% and exports jumped nearly 97% over the year-ago month. First Hyundai Motor India cut prices of its cars owing to CENVAT reduction, then they cut production and now Hyundai will increase prices by up to 2% in January across all its models like it had done in June. The company took a price mark-up ranging from Rs 1,000-18,000 in June.

Hyundai Motor India achieved yet another milestone by reaching the 20 lakh sales landmark. “This is also the fastest 20 lakh production for any manufacturer in India and Hyundai Motor India achieved this in just around 10 years,” the company said in a release.

The Powertrain R&D Center of Hyundai Motor Company has completed development of a new, more fuel efficient and cleaner diesel engine for compact passenger vehicles (C-segment and below).
