The 250cc Pulsars’ sales figure should come out next time around

In October 2021, 200-500cc bike sales slumped by 21 percent over the same period a year ago

The overall sales figure of the top 10 models in the 200-500cc bike segment in October 2021, like many other segments, dropped considerably year-on-year (YoY).

In all, the top-selling premium motorcycles, that are still within the reach of many a motorist in India, registered sales of 70,991 units, which is a 21 percent drop in sales YoY.

Yet again, it was the Royal Enfield Classic 350 which came on top of its rivals with 19,728 unit sales, followed by the Bullet 350 which found over 8000 new homes last month.

Another Royal Enfield, the Meteor 350, came third in the October 2021 200-500cc bike sales chart, as the brand retailed 7851 units of the motorcycle.

The arrival of Yezdi motorcycles should spice things up in the segment

It was closely followed by the Bajaj Pulsar 180 and NS200 duo, which registered sales of 7407 units, and the Honda CB350 (7152 units), sales of which boomed this past month.

Bajaj’s 220F still managed to find 5936 new takers despite its replacement, the F250 hitting the market at the end of the month. One has to wait and see the kind of acceptance the new 250cc Pulsars have found across the nation.

Up next is the KTM Duke 200 (4696 units), the Hero Xpulse 200 (3815 units), Royal Enfield Himalayan (3728 units) and finally, the Jawa range of motorcycles that found 2610 new buyers in October.

Although the overall sales of the bikes in the chart above declined, some models like the CB350 (454 percent), Himalayan (108 percent), Duke 200 (74 percent) and Xpulse 200 (54 percent) did register YoY sales growth.
