The Fiat Linea petrol will get a 1.4-litre 95bhp twin-cam engine. This 16-valve motor does duty in the Grande Punto in Turkey, and will be offered in the Grande Punto when it goes on sale in India later next year. This engine will be produced at Fiat’s Ranjangaon plant, which will help Fiat to keep costs down. The Linea’s launch has been postponed to January due to low sentiments after the terror attacks.

Fiat is also revamping its entire dealer network with the aim of improving its service standards as it prepares to launch the Linea. The company wants to change the perception of its service and aftersales network and is investing heavily in an extensive dealer upgradation programme.
