Volkswagen India will ramp up the output of the Polo to clear order backlog, which has now crossed 5,700 units within two months of launch. The company rolled out the hatchback in March and has sold 1,599 units so far, out of a total booking of 7,300 cars. Currently it has a waiting period of up to four months. The company is gradually ramping up production, but not rapidly as, they do not want to compromise on the quality. The company has produced about 1,800 units in the last two months from its facility in Chakan at an average output of 900 cars per month.
