Audi India has upgraded the Q7 with 8 speed Tiptronic automatic transmission, replacing the 6 speed Tiptronic unit. The company has also withdrawn the 3.6 liter V6 and 4.2 liter V8 petrol engines, replacing them with an all new 3.0 liter supercharged TFSI V6 engine producing 279PS of power. Audi has also updated the 3.0 TDi motor, which now its second generation is all new with nothing in common with its predecessor. The new engine now develops 240 bhp of power and 550Nm of torque from 1750-2500Rpm. This V6 diesel accelerates from 0-100 kmph in just 7.9 seconds and has a top speed of 215 kmph. Weighing in at 198 kgs, the new motor is 20 kgs lighter and boasts of fuel efficiency improvements by 19%.

The 4.2 liter V8 diesel has been modified with a new 2000 bar fuel injection system, reducing fuel consumption slightly. This V8 monster accelerates to a ton in just 6.4 seconds and has a top whack of 242 kmph thanks to the 340bhp of power and 800Nm of torque churning out at just 1750-2750Rpm. The Q7 3.0 liter TDi V6 is priced at Rs 55.65 lakhs, whereas the 4.2 liter TDi V8 costs Rs 66.95 lakhs (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
