Eicher Motors is planing to setup its biggest ever facility to manufacture Royal Enfield Motorcycles in Andhra Pradesh. The company is in talks with the state government for acquiring 75 acres of land in Sri City (a new special economic zone at Satyavedu in Chittoor district). The project which will see an investment of Rs. 250 crore will be implemented in two phases. The first phase (initial three years) will create a manufacturing facility for 1.5 lakh bikes per annum. The second phase (lasting two years, after the initial three years) will result in expand production capacity to 2.5 lakh units per year. The AP Government will provide various incentives, reimbursements and subsidised power as per the state’s industrial policy.
