Tata Fiat Dealership

Fiat fans have reason to rejoice as Italian automaker has finally decided to sell cars through its dealership network. Tata Motors will setup independent dealership network in 20 cities across the country in the next 18 months. The current Tata-Fiat dealers will open a separate outlet for Fiat. This new strategy will prevent cannibalisation and will help Fiat build a brand in India. Last month, Fiat sold just 1069 cars whereas Tata Motors’s managed to sell 16,829 cars. With a new distribution network and new models set to be launched in 2012, Fiat has one of its biggest chances of comeback in the highly competitive Indian car market.

“Fiat cars will now be sold separately and independently. Also, we are opening two Fiat cafes, one each in Delhi and Pune, for promoting the brand by bringing ‘Italian-ness’,” Rajeev Kapoor, President and CEO, Fiat India, said.
