Ducati has made a special model for developing countries including India, the Monster 795. The Ducati Monster 795 is a a cheaper version of the Monster 796, engineered in a way which would reduce production costs by a significant margin, which the Italian motorcycle maker plans to pass onto the customers. The Monster 795 is a cheaper version of the 796, which will use different tires and alloys along with a double sidded swingarm (the 796 uses a double sided one). Ducati will assemble the bikes in Thailand and will sell the Monster 795 in Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, China, Thailand, Philippines and India. The Indian launch of this Monster is confirmed for January 2012. Ducati India will launch the 795 at the Auto Expo, with the cheapest Ducati competing with the Kawasaki Ninja 650R and Hyosung GT650.

The Ducati Monster 795 is powered by a 803 cc, twin-cylinder engine which is air cooled. This motor produces 85 hp of power at 8250 RPM and 78 Nm of torque at 6250 RPM. It uses a 6-speed manual gearbox and should be priced around Rs. 5 lakhs (ex-showroom). With a weight of 167 kgs, the Monster 795 is quite a light bike for its segment. At the front, this Ducati uses 120/60/ ZR 17 tyres, while at the rear it uses 160/60/ ZR 17 tyres. The tyres are made by Pirelli and the Monster 795 will be available in red, white and black colours.
