Regular readers of MotorBeam would remember that we were among the first ones in India to uncover Volkswagen’s plans of launching the Jetta TSI Petrol in India. Now, we have clear and close photographic evidence of the same as we spotted the Jetta TSI testing in and around Pune on more than one instance. Volkswagen has already announced that they will not launch any all-new models at the upcoming 2012 Auto Expo but for variants and facelifts of their existing models. The Jetta TSI would be one among them.

The Jetta petrol is expected to come with the same peppy, powerful and stonking 1.8 liter TSI engine that does excellent duty under the hood of Skoda Laura and Superb and also the base variant of Audi A4. With a maximum torque output of 250 Nm between 1500-4500 rpm, the TSI unit is an enthusiast’s delight. Combined with the matured and sorted road handling manners of the Jetta, Volkswagen would want the Jetta TSI to be the ultimate petrolhead’s car this side of 20 Lac Rupees.

With the Jetta doing good numbers already with just the diesel variants on sale, the addition of TSI petrol variants to the lineup would only boost up the sales numbers even further.
