Hyundai is officially launched the 2012 Sonata sedan in India and has revealed the prices. The Korean automaker was waiting for the budget announcement to take a decision on the pricing and has launched the vehicle in two variants. The 2012 Hyundai Sonata range starts at Rs. 18,52,979/- for the manual transmission variant, while the automatic transmission variant is priced at Rs. 20,61,272/- (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi). The pricing is quite aggressive considering the features and equipment of offer but the lack of diesel engine won’t create such a high demand as Hyundai would expect. The Sonata is powered by a 2.4-litre GDI engine which produces 201 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque.

Hyundai claims to have received good amount of inquiries for the car post its showcase at the 2012 Auto Expo. The new Sonata is full loaded and features the Fluidic design language, which is common on all Hyundai vehicles. Some of the key features of the Sonata include 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, ESP, TCS, rear view camera, smart key with push button start, VFD (Vacuum Fluorescent Display) cluster, front and rear seat ventilation, front seat warmers, 10-way adjustable power seat with lumbar support, 4-way power adjustable front passenger seat, high intensity Xenon head lamps, cruise control and paddle shifts (automatic variant).
