The bike also features petal discs and a mono-shock suspension. The Bajaj Discover ST will be available by the end of June with pricing starting at around Rs. 53,000/-. Meanwhile the Pulsar 200 NS delivers could start as late as July.

The new Discover uses a semi double cradle frame which Bajaj claims is anti-vibration. The front suspension is a telescopic fork with anti-friction DU bush, while the rear uses a Nitroxx mono-shock with gas canister. The Discover features kick and electric start mechanism and uses a 5-speed gearbox. The front features a 200 mm petal disc while the rear uses a 130 mm drum. The 17-inch tyres are mounted on newly designed alloy wheels. The Discover features a wheelbase which measures 1305 mm, while the ground clearance is 170 mm. The fuel tank capacity is 10 liters while the Discover ST weighs 124.5 kgs.

“We believe that the average Indian commuter has to compromise a lot for fuel efficiency. With the Discover ST we are making a statement that mileage need not come with boring design and outdated features,” K Srinivas, President, Motorcycle Business, Bajaj Auto, said.

Rajiv Bajaj says that he does not want to be in the rat race of the number game but wants to be the specialist in the segments Bajaj Auto is currently present. The company says it wants to redefine commuter motorcycles from ‘ChaltaHai’ to ‘DaudtaHai’. Pricing has not been announced yet and Bajaj will announce it in second half of June.
