New Ford Figo Facelift Launch

Ford India has launched the Figo facelift in India calling it the new Ford Figo. The tagline of the vehicle is ‘Change is a wonderful thing’. The changes to the car enable Ford to keep things fresh among rising competition in the hatchback segment. The Ford Figo facelift gets new head lamps, new fog lamps, new tail lamps and new front bumper on the outside. The top end model now gets new alloy wheels as well. On the inside, Ford has given the Figo audio controls near the steering wheel (not on it, but behind it) and new seat fabric.

The Ford Figo is India’s most awarded car. The American automaker has sold 2.35 lakh units world wide till date, with 60% buyers being first time owners. The new Figo carries forward the Kinetic design. It is available in two new colors – bright yellow and kinetic blue. Ford claims the acceleration (better engine calibration) and gear shift quality of the Figo has improved (requiring less effort) with the cabin being now quieter thanks to double bulb weather strips on the doors. The Figo continues to have the best in class cost of ownership with the use of child parts to reduce maintenance costs. The company claims there are 100 changes to the car.

Ford has also improved the seats of the Figo, giving it better lumbar support, the front seats now have adjustable head rests. The radio panel has been completely redesigned while the instrument cluster now gets Riviera blue color. The new Ford Figo facelift is priced at Rs. 3.85 lakhs for the base petrol variant and Rs. 4.82 lakhs for the base diesel variant (ex-showroom, Delhi). This translates into an increase in prices between Rs. 3000-6000/- which is quite nominal considering the improvements. Ford currently has 230 sales outlets, which it plans to expand to 500 outlets by 2015. The Ford Figo has received 20 awards, including the MotorBeam car of the year award.
