2013 Honda CBR250R Reaches Showrooms

Feeling the heat of emerging motorcycles in 200-300cc segment, Honda has recently launched the CBR250R motorcycle in company’s MotoGP paint scheme, the Repsol edition. The Repsol paint scheme is a limited edition, available till October 2013. Along with the introduction of Repsol edition, Honda has freshened up all the standard colour schemes on the CBR250R. The new colours include sports red, sports black and pearl sunbeam white. The 2013 Honda CBR250R has started reaching outlets and we got a call from our nearest dealership to take a look at the stance of CBR250R in sports red colour.

The Honda CBR250R in sports red colour looks sharp and striking rather than being soothing to the eyes as the earlier metallic dual tone schemes. The body is not adorned with either of the decals except on the tank and front fairing. The exhaust plate and the alloy rims are now in black matte finish that gives a deep contrast look to the overall design. The new colour has enhanced the race-inspired design of the CBR250R.

However the basis of the new styling seems completely taken from the Kawasaki Ninja 250R. The brand name on the tank and model identity on the side fairing is similar to that on the discontinued Ninja 250R. Honda introduced new colors almost a month back but the models have not reached to all the showrooms across the country yet. The Repsol edition is available only in ABS version while the sports black, pearl sunbeam white and sports red are offered on the standard version as well.

The price range of the CBR250R starts from Rs 1.57 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the Standard (without ABS) while the Repsol edition is available at Rs. 1.93 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The sales of the Honda CBR250R seem to be affected after the launch of the KTM Duke 390. However it is likely that the Honda is considering bringing in the CBR400R or CBR500R to our market soon.
