Maruti Suzuki WagonR Facelift

Recently, Maruti Suzuki came up with their short, one minute commercial featuring their new and updated product lineup, the new Alto 800, Swift Dzire, Ertiga, Swift, Ritz and a glimpse of the facelifted Wagon R. The car has got some minor cosmetic updates, a new grille and an all-new bumper with a different fog lamp housing treatment, rest of the car remains unchanged. Along with the exteriors, the facelifted Wagon R’s interiors are also expected to get minor updates with additional features.

Changes under the hood are not expected with the facelifted model. The new Wagon R is likely to carry forward the same 3-cylinder, 1.0-litre K-series petrol engine that produces 67 BHP of maximum power and 90 Nm of torque coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Currently, the Wagon R comes with three options of petrol, CNG and LPG. The Wagon R is known for its fuel efficiency and spacious cabin, which has made it one of the best selling cars in the country.

The Maruti Wagon R is known to deliver a mileage of 15 km/l and with its tall-boy stance, the car is easy to drive around the city with decent performance. Hyundai Santro is the direct rival for Wagon R, but in terms of sales, Santro is lagging far behind the Wagon R as Hyundai has not updated the Santro for a long time and is giving more attention to the Eon. The Wagon R comes with a price tag ranging from Rs. 3.6 lakhs to Rs. 4.5 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). The facelifted version is likely to hit the roads later this month.
