Kawasaki Ninja 300R Spied

Kawasaki will be launching the Ninja 300R in the Indian market in June 2013. Bookings for the Ninja 300R are open unofficially with a few dealers. The launch was due in March, but it got delayed because of the KTM Duke 390. With the launch of the new Ninja 300R, the manufacturer will discontinue the current Ninja 250R from the product line-up in India. With increasing demand of sports oriented motorcycles and rising competition in the segment, Kawasaki is taking a clever move to introduce the Ninja 300R for the Indian market.

The Kawasaki Ninja 300R is powered by a 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, 296cc parallel twin engine that produces a maximum power output of 39 BHP at 11,000 RPM with a peak torque figure of 27 Nm at 10,000 RPM, coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission. The 296cc engine features a fuel injection system with dual throttle valves. The motorcycle sits on a steel tube diamond frame with aluminium foot pegs and comes equipped with ABS as an option. It will be retailed through Bajaj Auto’s Probiking showrooms.

The Kawasaki Ninja 300R with ABS package and fuel-tank capacity of 17-litres weighs around 174 kgs. The motorcycle features linked rear monoshock and 37 mm telescopic suspension setup at the front. Single 290 mm petal disc at the front and 220 mm disc at the rear are responsible for braking. In terms of styling, the Ninja 300R and 250R share almost the same design elements. Prices for the Kawasaki Ninja 300R is expected to be around Rs. 3.75 lakhs. The bike was spied in Pune recently as the testing has commenced.
