Fiat Punto Jet Black Edition

Fiat has introduced an exclusive limited edition version of the Punto named as Punto Jet Black Edition for the UK market. The Italian carmaker has made only 300 examples of the Punto Jet Black Edition, each retailing with a starting price of £12,000 (Rs. 8.45 lakhs). The special edition Punto boasts black paintjob with matte black stripes running from the front hood to the tail of the car, Jet Black badgings and stylish new 17-inch alloy wheels. The limited edition package also includes black side skirts with a roof spoiler, rear parking sensors and sports suspension.

Coming to the interiors of the Punto Jet Black Edition, the vehicle gets equipped with a leather steering wheel, automatic climate control and dark tinted windows. The limited edition Punto is based on the recently launched 2013 facelifted Punto featuring a 1.4-litre petrol engine producing 76 BHP of power output. We don’t expect the Jet Black Edition Punto in India as Fiat is going slow with their products when it comes to the Indian market.

Recently Fiat announced its total separation with Tata Motors (in terms of sales and service) and the Italian manufacturer has started its solo operations in the country with the Grande Punto and Linea. In the coming months, Fiat is expected to come up with a facelift of the Grande Punto along with a performance oriented Abarth version, which is expected this year itself.

The Fiat Punto Abarth will feature the 1.4-litre T-Jet turbo petrol engine that churns out a maximum power of 160 BHP, coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission. It is still not known what power output the Punto Abarth will have in India. The Punto currently competes in the Indian market with the likes of the Hyundai i20, Maruti Suzuki Swift and Volkswagen Polo. Fiat is on a verge to enhance its brand presence in India, so we can expect many interesting products coming from the Italian stables starting from the second half of this year.
