Renault Scala Automatic Review

Renault India has introduced a new base variant, RxE, for the Scala diesel range that extends the car horizons in the diesel saloon market. The company had been offering the same variant earlier but only for the petrol model. Renault has priced the Scala RxE diesel aggressively at Rs. 8,29,000/- (ex-showroom, Delhi) which is in great contrast among its segment. The new variant is enriched with several safety and comfort features and offers an attractive package to the customers in the premium sedan market.

The standard features in the RxE Scala are driver-side airbag, anti-lock braking system with electronic brake force distribution and brake assist, integrated music system on center console, cooling vent for the rear passengers with the punchy performance of the K9K diesel engine that doesn’t need any further introduction. Most of the features are not usually seen on the entry-level variants. However the Nissan Sunny also comes with similar price tag and features but the Scala has more executive appeal which will certainly help Renault to score high sales numbers.

The other basic equipment on the Renault Scale RxE includes dual tone bumpers, body coloured ORVMs and door handles with chrome boot lid at the rear. The Scala runs on the 14-inch tyres with full size wheel covers. The base variant for the Verna 1.4 CRDi cost approximately Rs. 8.57 lakhs, while the new Scala variant offers a good value for money package for customers looking for comfort, quality and the quantity also. Renault offers the complete car package on the Scala, which has a 2+2 years/ 80,000 kms warranty along with the advantage of 24X7 road side assistance and navigation assistance on call.
