2013 Chevrolet Captiva India

General Motors India has silently launched the facelift of the Chevrolet Captiva, evident on its website. The facelifted Captiva was showcased at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show with mild interior and exterior upgrades along with additional features. The front fascia gets revised with updated bumper, grille and fog lamps. The rear gets noticeable changes that include a new LED tail lamp cluster, revised bumper integrating scuff plates with dual exhausts. It also gets a fresh set of 18-inch alloy wheels.

On the inside, the 2013 Chevrolet Captiva gets updated with new fabric seats and a mildly tweaked instrument panel. Gadgetry such as keyless entry with push button start, dual-zone climate system, ambient lighting package and heated rear seats has been added. The SUV comes with 7-seat configuration in India. The outgoing model came with two diesel engine options but the latest offering ditches the 2.0-litre diesel engine seen on the Cruze sedan. It continues with the 2.2-litre oil burner that produces 187 BHP of power and 424 Nm of torque.

The 2.2-litre diesel engine on the Chevrolet Captiva is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox in the LT variant with rear wheel drive setup, while the LTZ gets 6-speed automatic transmission as standard with all-wheel drive setup. It is a well equipped SUV that features Traction Control, Hill Assist, 6 Airbags, ESP, ABS, EBD and cruise control as standard. General Motors India imports the Captiva via the CBU route and hence it comes with a hefty price of Rs. 23.50 lakhs and 26.50 lakhs for the LT and LTZ variants respectively (ex-showroom, Delhi). In the month of July, the automaker managed to sell only 12 units of the Captiva.
