Hero MotoCorp has updated the Passion Pro giving it a host of new features unseen in this segment. The company offers two versions of the Passion (Pro and xPro). The Passion xPro is quite new and hence doesn’t get updated but the regular Passion Pro does. The motorcycle manufacturer has given the Hero Passion Pro a side-stand indicator, service due reminder and an all black saree guard. These changes might be minor but can be a differentiating factor for buyers in this high volume 100cc segment.
The company has also given the 2014 Hero Passion Pro new graphics which are inspired from the Passion xPro. The bike also gets new body colours and a new instrument cluster dial design. The Passion Pro is offered in multiple variants with front disc brake and electric start being the key differentiating factors between them. This motorcycle competes with the likes of the Honda CB Twister and Bajaj Auto’s Discover 100T. The Passion Pro is known for being a volume churner for the company with prices starting at Rs. 49,200/- (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
The Hero Passion Pro doesn’t get any updates to its powertrain. The motorcycle continues to be powered by the same tried, tested and widely accepted 97.2cc Honda engine which generates 7.8 PS of power at 7500 RPM and 8.04 Nm of torque at 4500 RPM, coupled to a 4-speed gearbox. With Hero offering a class leading 5-year warranty, the Passion Pro should continue to sell well in the entry level motorcycle segment, which has seen increased competition from new entrants like the Honda Dream Neo, Mahindra Centuro and soon to be launched Bajaj Discover 100M.
