Volkswagen Jetta Facelift Price

Volkswagen has launched the updated version of the Jetta for the model year 2014, soon after the launch of it’s Czech cousin, the Skoda Octavia. The Jetta facelift gets updated with some additional features, keeping the mechanicals unchanged. The 16-inch alloy wheels get a new twin 5-spoke pattern and the new offering boasts of Xenon headlamps with headlamp washers and LED daytime running lights. Convenience features inside the cabin includes dual-zone Climatronic AC, 12-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, 60:40 folding rear seat, front and rear-mounted proximity sensors and more.

The Volkswagen Jetta continues to be powered with the 1.4-litre TSI turbocharged petrol and 2.0-litre TDI turbocharged diesel engine. The 1.4-litre TSI motor produces 122 BHP of peak power with 220 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The petrol motor returns an ARAI claimed mileage of 14.69 km/l. The 2.0-litre TDI churns out 140 BHP of maximum power with 320 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual or DSG automatic transmission. The diesel motor returns an ARAI claimed fuel efficiency of 19.33 km/l (manual) and 16.96 km/l (automatic).

The updated Volkswagen Jetta retails from Rs. 13.70 lakhs to Rs. 19.43 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Volkswagen India has spruced up its product lineup with new offerings and updates for the ongoing festive season. The recent additions along with the new Jetta include the Cross Polo, Polo GT TSI, Polo GT TDI and Vento TSI. The Jetta didn’t get an overwhelming response by the Indian audience due to its premium positioning and stiff competition in the D-segment from the Hyundai Elantra, Toyota Corolla, etc. Now that the new Octavia has been launched, the Jetta’s sales were expected to dwindle further. Let’s hope that the updated version proves to be a saviour for the German auto giant.
