2014 Indian Chief Motorcycle Lineup Unveiled

The Polaris owned iconic American brand, Indian Motorcycle has been revised with three new motorcycles recently. The brand now gets updated with new technology motorcycles along with revised styling which retains the iconic look. The entry level motorcycle is the Indian Chief Classic that retails at a starting price of $​18,999 (Rs. 11.70 lakhs). The iconic design on the Chief Classic includes extensive use of chrome on every possible panel, brawny fenders, laced chrome wheels and long slip-on exhaust pipe.

The Indian Chief Classic is powered by Thunder Stroke 111 engine, which is a 49-degree V-Twin air-cooled motor, coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission. The engine produces a peak torque of 161 Nm at 3000 RPM. In terms of suspension, the Chief Classic features telescopic forks at the front and single shock suspension at the rear. The front brakes comprises of dual floating rotor with four piston calliper, while the rear brakes have single floating rotor with two piston caliper.

Key features of the Indian Chief Classic include ABS, cruise control, keyless push button start, light bar and premium leather seats. Next up is the Indian Chief Vintage that comes with a starting price of $20,999 (Rs. 13 lakhs). The Chief Vintage gets the same design language as the Chief Classic but gets added with premium leather seating and saddle bags. The genuine leather treatment adds to the traditional cruiser styling. The Chief Vintage gets the same suspension setup and is powered by the same Thunder Stroke 111 engine, which produces 161 Nm of torque.

Key highlights of the Indian Chief Vintage include ABS, cruise control, highway bar, keyless push button start, quick release Vintage leather saddle bags and Vintage fender badge. The range topping Indian Chieftain comes with a starting price of $​22,999 (Rs. 14.17 lakhs). It is treated with hard fairing and hard saddle bags that gives the Chieftain a bold appearance. Tech specs remains the same on this model too but it comes with a host of advanced features such as power adjustable windshield, remote locking hard saddle bags, tyre pressure monitoring, 100 watt stereo with AM/FM, Bluetooth and smartphone compatible input.
