Honda Jazz 2014 Auto Expo

Honda has had a fruitful 2013 in India, thanks to their first diesel offering, Amaze. The Japanese automaker received tremendous appreciation with the launch of Amaze and now that the City has launched with a diesel heart, Honda is on a roll. Honda discontinued the Jazz in 2013 due to thin margins and dwindling demand. Now, they are betting big on the new generation Jazz for India with relatively high localisation and a diesel engine option now. Honda has showcased the 2014 Jazz at the Auto Expo that looks confident and fresh to take on the hatchback segment in India.

In terms of styling, Honda has sharpened up the exteriors of the new Jazz, which looks sportier and serious. There are a host of cuts and strong creases running across the body of the new Jazz and the rear appears to be busy with a totally redesigned profile. The interiors are also all-new and in line with the latest design philosophy of Honda. Most of the elements can be seen on the new City, including the large screen, touch sensitive control panel, steering wheel and similar details. However, the cabin space remains to be segment leading with acres of room.

Globally, the 2014 Honda Jazz gets several engine options but the Indian market will get a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine options. The 1.2-litre i-VTEC is carried over from its predecessor, producing 88 BHP of power and 110 Nm torque with 5-speed manual and automatic transmission options. The famous 1.5-litre i-DTEC produces 100 PS of power with 200 Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
