Honda Activa 125 India

Honda is all set to launch the 125cc version of its bestselling scooter, the Activa in India this month and Zigwheels has revealed the prices for the new automatic scooter ahead of its launch. The Honda Activa 125 will be available in two variants namely Standard and Deluxe. The Standard version will get 130 mm drum brakes at the front and rear, and will also sport Honda’s Combi Braking System, whereas the Deluxe version will get 190 mm disc brakes upfront, that will be mounted on a larger 12-inch front wheel, with a 10-inch wheel at the rear.

Both the versions of the new Honda Activa 125 measure 1814 mm in length, 704 mm in width and 1151 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1260 mm. The automatic scooter gets a 124.9cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine producing 8.6 BHP at 6500 RPM and 10.12 Nm at 5500 RPM. Honda had earlier stated that it was developing a new global compact engine for its 125cc scooters, and the same engine will make its debut on the Activa 125 as well. The scooter gets telescopic front forks and a monoshock setup at the rear. Features like tubeless tyres and self start will be standard on both the models.

Honda will be offering the Activa 125 in four solid colour shades including black, metallic blue, pearl white and metallic silver. The styling has rather restrained lines that will appeal to people of all age groups. The build quality also looks to be far better than the previous models, while the instrument cluster now gets a digital readout. The Activa 125 will also feature HET technology for improved fuel economy.

The Honda Active 125 Standard will be priced at around Rs. 56,000/- (ex-showroom, Delhi), marginally undercutting the primary competitor, the Suzuki Access, while the Deluxe version will be priced at Rs. 61,000/- (ex-showroom, Delhi), making it a little expensive than the competition. Honda has already commenced the bookings for the Activa 125 at its dealerships across the country with a booking amount Rs. 5000/-. The Activa 125 already has a waiting period of six months even before launch.
