Yamaha R25 Blue

The Yamaha R25 was launched in the Indonesian market on 20th May 2014 and stunned the world with its entry into the quarter-litre segment. The R25 was the most highly awaited and immensely spied motorcycle in the 2-wheeler industry in recent times. The twin-cylinder engine of this Japanese bike is being the most talked about aspect of the R25, as it can redline all the way to 14,000 RPM. The response has been terrific throughout the world and people can’t wait to swing a leg over the Yamaha R25 for a ride.

Testament? More than 2800 units have been booked online through Yamaha’s online booking system in Indonesia in less than ’25’ hours. Bookings will continue through R-Shop which Yamaha has made available to Indonesian customers. The hype for the R25 is high in Indonesia as the motorcycle has been made in that country, being available first there. The product is being sold to the market which has blind enthusiasm for the Yamaha brand and cannot look forward beyond that.

The Yamaha R25 is powered by a 249cc parallel-twin engine which produces 36 PS at 12,000 RPM and 22.1 Nm of torque at 10,000 RPM. Coupled with a 6-speed gearbox and a kerb weight of 166 kgs, the power to weight ratio isn’t that exciting and the high reviving engine will be more suited to track riding. Except the high tech engine, nothing seems to be high tech given the components used on the R25. India launch of this quarter-litre Yamaha is expected this year or early 2015 with a hefty price tag, crossing Rs. 3 lakhs easily.
