Datsun GO+

Prior to its official launch in Indonesia, prices and specifications of the Datsun GO+ MPV have been revealed. A prominent model for Indonesian as well as the Indian market, the Datsun GO+ will be available in five variants which include D, A, option A, T and option T. The GO+ MPV falls under the regulation of Low Cost Green Car (LCGC) program in Indonesia, which entitles the vehicle to a limited engine capacity but not dimensions.

The Datsun GO+ MPV will be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine (from the GO hatchback) that produces 68 PS, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. An automatic variant is also likely to join the manual version later in the life cycle in order to compete in the LCGC segment. The GO+ gets three rows of seats with a 2+3+3 seating layout. In terms of variants, the base D variant misses out on air-con, audio system and will get black bumpers. The base variant will be priced at Indonesian Rupaih (Rp) 85 million (Rs. 4.42 lakhs).

The A variant on the other hand will get air-con, body coloured bumpers, mobile docking audio system (seen of the GO), storage pockets and bottle holders and will be priced around Rp 92.4 million (Rs. 4.81 lakhs). The option A variant comes with all the features from the regular A variant, but replaces the mobile docking audio system with a 1-DIN audio unit and is priced at around Rp 92.9 million (Rs. 4.84 lakhs).

The top-of-the-line T variant of the Datsun GO+ will come loaded with features. Along with the features available on the A variant, the T trim will get power steering, power windows, keyless entry, body-coloured door handles and immobiliser, and will be priced at around Rp 99.9 million (Rs. 5.20 lakhs). The option T variant gets additional goodies like rear parking sensors, side mouldings, rear centre stoplight and roof mounted spoiler and will be priced at around Rp 102.9 million (Rs. 5.36 lakhs) in Indonesia.

We expect to see the Datsun GO+ to have a similar line-up of variants along with similar prices when launched in India later this year. Nissan is also working on introducing stand alone Datsun showrooms set to launch by the end of this year that will sell the GO, GO+ and the upcoming Redi-GO small car in the future.
