Tata Bolt Front Rear

You read it first on MotorBeam. Tata Motors has seen a major downfall in the recent past with their passenger vehicle segment. That’s because product development at their end was inactive and competition was zipping ahead with latest tech and desirable packages. Then came the Bolt and Zest in the picture, which were showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo. Tata Motors is planning a big comeback in the market starting with the Bolt and Zest. When are they finally getting launched you ask? The Bolt and Zest will be launched together exactly in mid-August and that’s when the deliveries begin.

Just a month before, in mid-July, Tata Motors will start taking bookings for both the new offerings. Remember online booking facility of the Tata Nano? Same will be the case with the Bolt and Zest across the country. We broke the news about Tata Motors renovating their dealerships pan India before introducing the Bolt and Zest. The new cars will be displayed at the updated dealerships from July itself. Tata Motors are targeting a big chunk of sales on the very first day of launch.

Now here’s the big news, in order to make room for the new offerings, Tata will stop the production of slow selling Vista and Manza variants. All the Quadrajet variants of the Vista and Manza powered by 1.3-litre Multijet diesel will be discontinued and only 1.4-litre TDI diesel engine will be offered for fleet operators. Later in 2015, Tata Motors plans to stop the production of the Vista completely.

The Tata Bolt and Zest will be offered with the 1.3-litre Multijet diesel and the new 1.2-litre Revotron turbocharged petrol engine. However, the AMT F-Tronic transmission will only be offered with the diesel variant of the Zest and not Bolt. The Bolt hatchback will be manufactured at the carmaker’s Pimpri-Chinchwad plant, where the Vista and Indica are built. The Zest will be manufactured at the Ranjangaon plant, alongside the Fiat Linea and Punto.
