One of its bestselling products globally, Suzuki has launched the Swift Style Special Edition variant in Japan that adds cosmetic upgrades to the exterior and interior of the hatchback along with additional equipment, while retaining the mechanicals of the car. The Suzuki Swift Style Special Edition model is powered by the 1.2-litre 4-cylinder, K12B VVT engine in 2WD mode.

Exterior upgrades on the Swift Style Special Edition variant include a twin chrome horizontal grille that replaces the honeycomb mesh grille, new 16-inch alloy wheels with special cutting and black paint accents. There are ‘Style’ badges all around the hatchback, while the roof has been done up in contrasting black or white.

On the inside, the Swift Style edition model comes with exclusive seat upholstery, while the doors get new trim skin. The steering wheel gets audio controls and is now wrapped in leather with contrast silver stitching that extends to the gear knob as well. The Style special edition also comes with driver seat armrest, while the instrument panel and door trim ornament are done in new metal tone. The driver and front passenger seats also get a side pocket.

Unlike Indian special edition variants, the Japan spec Swift Style Special Edition comes with an array of additional equipment on board. The hatchback gets electrically adjustable ORVMs, premium UV cut glass, cruise control, heated front seats; automatic headlights and front fog lamps with LED illumination lamp and a 1-step reclining rear seat. Completing the equipment list on the Swift Style is the 7-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifts.

While the Suzuki Swift Style Special Edition with all the equipment on-board seems like a distant dream in India; nonetheless, the Swift is due for a facelift this year in the country and will feature updated styling along with LED daytime running lights and new equipment on board inside the cabin. The Swift was the second bestselling model in the country after the DZire in May this year, courtesy of a potent powertrain and strong fan following. The Swift facelift could see a launch in the coming months, possibly near to the festive season.
