Bajaj Auto will be launching the new Discover 150 premium commuter motorcycles on 11th August in the country. We had earlier reported that the bookings for the Discover 150 had already commenced and now it has come to light that Bajaj has started with the deliveries as well before the official launch. The Discover 150 is available in two options namely the ‘150 S’ which is a naked styled motorcycle, while the ‘150 F’ gets a half-faired design.
The Bajaj Discover 150 sits on the top of the Discover range in India and shares its underpinnings and components with the 125 ST. The 150 S is largely the same as the 125 ST in terms of design, but sports a fatter 100/90-17 tyre along with an all-black paint scheme and silver finished grab rails that act as major differentiators between both the models. The Discover 150 F in particular though takes inspiration from rivals like the Honda Stunner with the half fairing at the front, while the rest of the bike is the same as the 150 S. Both the bikes get the same analogue instrument console and switch gear that comes from the 125 ST.
In terms of powertrain, the Discover 150 motorcycles will come with a new 150cc 4-valve, DTS-i engine that is expected to produce around 14 PS of power. Both the models come with a 5-speed transmission. Suspension duties are performed by telescopic front forks and a monoshock setup at the rear. You also get the new web-spoke alloy wheels, while stopping power comes from a disc brake in the front and a drum brake setup at the rear. However, the performance and fuel economy figures have not been confirmed yet and will be announced officially at the launch.
Bajaj is positioning the Discover 150 S and 150 F models under the Pulsar range and will be targeted at buyers who want performance from their commuter motorcycle. Bajaj has already commenced the deliveries of the motorcycle to customers and The Automotive India forum member Kinky (username) is the first customer of the 150 S in India and received the delivery earlier today. The Discover 150 S has been priced at Rs. 63,635/-, while the price for the 150 F is Rs. 68,000/- (on-road, Mumbai).
