2015 KTM 390 Adventure Rendering

The 390 Adventure is expected to be the next biggest offering from the KTM to the world and will make its debut at the EICMA in Milan later this year. Ahead of its scheduled unveil in November this year; a rendering of the off-roading Adventure bike has surfaced online and going by the looks of it, we are already in love with the 390 Adventure. Based on the Duke 390 platform, the new 390 Adventure sports a different design from that of its street-fighter sibling while taking design cues from the bigger 1190 Adventure.

The chassis will also sport some changes to make the 390 Adventure more off-road oriented. The new chassis will also sport a stronger suspension setup with longer travel to comply with rough roads. The bike will also sport wire spoked wheels, instead of the cast alloy ones seen on the Duke 390 that offer better off-road durability on the bike. Also expect to see better luggage hauling capacity on the 390 Adventure for long touring as well as a larger fuel tank of around 16-litres.

In terms of powertrain, the same 373cc engine from the Duke 390 will be pushing out 43.5 PS of power. Coupled with a possible weight of 124 kgs, the riders will experience an overwhelming power to weight ratio on the 390 Adventure. Moreover, as the rendering suggests, the off-road bike’s swingarm will be derived from the 990 Adventure and not from the Duke 390. Also expect KTM to equip the bike with ABS as standard along with front and rear disc brakes, much like its naked and faired siblings.

While the rendering is not official, we do hope that the actual model comes close to this and will definitely be a hot seller in the segment. With little or no competition to face, KTM surely will have the segment to themselves and the bike will be an inexpensive off-roader, being a much better alternative to the cruisers for those who love touring. Even though, the market is very small for enduro bikes in India, the 390 Adventure will definitely find takers who want a true-blooded off-roader at an affordable price tag. The motorcycle will be produced at Bajaj’s Chakan facility, while the European launch is set for next year.
