VW Vento TSI Price

Adding some excitement in the slow selling C-segment Vento sedan, Volkswagen has launched the Vento Konekt limited edition in the country which is available on the Comfortline and Highline variants. Making the Vento special are the set of new digital entertainment and connectivity features. Features on the limited edition model include a new Blaupunkt infotainment system with GPS navigation and hands free Bluetooth telephony. The centre console also gets integrated 7-inch TFT touchscreen display unit loaded with the Igo-Navtech navigation maps, USB and iPhone/iPod connectivity.

The Konekt package also adds a rear-seat entertainment system comprising of an Android powered Bluetooth enabled 8-inch Blaupunkt tablet that comes with 3G compatibility, twin-SIM functionality and Wi-Fi capability. The tablet offers occupants with the option of 16 live television channels, internet radio, weather updates, stock market feeds as well as a host of preloaded apps and games. You can also access social media channels like Facebook, Twitter as well as Google maps from the tablet or make video calls and even find the nearest Volkswagen service centre or dealership.

Completing the package are the leatherette seat covers with the Konekt badge on the scuff plates, while on the outside the ‘Konekt’ badging is restricted to the boot on the limited edition Vento. Volkswagen states that the new limited edition model was launched keeping in mind with the fast paced, active lifestyles of modern customers that need digital entertainment and connectivity at all times, even in the car. The Vento Konekt continues to be powered by the same 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engine options that produce 105 PS of power. There are no mechanical changes.

The Volkswagen Vento has been facing tough competition from new Honda City that has taken the competition by storm. While the City manages over 7000 units per month, the Vento on the other hand manages a little over 2000 units. However, the previous month of July saw Vento’s sales drop to 529 units a month. The Konekt adds some interesting features to the sedan but the vehicle needs more than just features to compete with the current segment leader. Volkswagen will update the Vento soon with the new 1.5-litre diesel engine that debuted on the Polo facelift last month.
