We know you don’t care anymore! The Mahindra Mojo 300 has gone from being excited to boring to excited again to boring again several times in the past couple of years. Mahindra had showcased the bike to dealers at a dealer meet earlier this year along with the Centuro Rockstar and Rodeo UZO, hinting towards a Diwali launch. However Mahindra officials have confirmed that the Indian auto giant will be launching the bike in the last quarter of this financial year, that is between the January-March period of 2015.

While we have had several confirmations for the Mojo’s launch date in the past as well, nothing has been concrete yet. Nonetheless, this might be the final confirmation, considering that the Mojo is production ready and has already been showcased to the dealers once. This also gives Mahindra enough time to commence its marketing and promotion programs early on, while pricing will be extremely competitive, more likely to undercut the competition. The company has been extensively testing the model in the past two years and also made some changes to the design in comparison to the prototype that was showcased in 2010, yes that’s four years back.

If mechanicals remain untouched, the Mahindra Mojo will come with a 295cc liquid-cooled, four-stroke, single-cylinder engine capable of producing 28 PS of power at 8000 RPM and 25 Nm of torque at 6500 RPM mated to a 6-speed transmission. Suspension duties on the other hand are performed by Up Side Down (USD) forks at the front, while the rear features a monoshock setup. Stopping power comes from disc brakes at the front and rear, while the bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli Speed Demon tyres. The top speed is rated at around 140 km/hr. Competing against the Honda CBR300R, KTM Duke 200, Suzuki Inazuma and the likes in the segment, expect a price tag of around Rs. 1.5 lakhs (ex-showroom).
