TVS Phoenix Based Adventure Bike Spy Shot

Riding on the consistent growth in the two-wheeler market, TVS has been in the news recently for all the right reasons. While its foray into the automatic scooter segment has been received well by the masses, the company’s collaboration with Bavarian based auto giant BMW has been the talk of the town for months. A lot is riding on TVS’ new set of products that will be launched in the coming years and include larger displacement motorcycles as well as new commuter segment products. As these new spy shots indicate, the two-wheeler manufacturer is looking to expand its commuter range in the future with the addition of a new small capacity on-off road Adventure bike.

Going by the spy shots, the Adventure commuter bike looks to be in its early development stages and could most likely be based on the Phoenix platform. You can see the larger diameter spoke-equipped wheel at the front and rear. In terms of suspension setup, the bike is expected to get long travel telescopic front forks and a longer stroke TVS multi-rated series spring shock absorbers at the rear. The rider will also have a comfortable upright riding position to ensure ease of travelling on long journeys.

The upcoming Adventure bike could be powered by the 125cc engine 4-stroke, air-cooled, single-cylinder and will be built around the Phoenix platform sporting a tubular frame. The engine is expected to produce around 11 BHP of power and 10.78 Nm of torque. The test mule appears to be equipped with a petal rotor-equipped disc brake in front and a drum brake setup at the rear and also gets alloy foot rests as well as an exposed chain.

It would be too early to talk about pricing and launch details of the TVS Adventure bike. With the company busy with a slew of new launches every quarter, we expect the bike to make it to the Indian market by the end of next year or later. While the Adventure motorcycle segment has not seen much of success in the country, it would be interesting to see if the market accepts an Adventure bike in the commuter price range.
