Updates include black-beige interiors, blue illumination & chrome inserts

Adding some novelty to its slow selling models, Chevrolet has updated its Sail twins with minor updates to the interiors that lend a fresher and more premium appeal to the cabin. With the launch for the updated models scheduled for the 24th of this month, our eagle eyed reader Raj managed to capture the interiors sporting all the changes. Both the models gets subtle yet major updates to the interiors, while other changes include the addition of chrome garnish to the exteriors. The cars get no other changes under the hood and will continue with the same engine options.

Compared to the outgoing version, the new Sail twins get new dual-tone interiors done up in black and beige instead of the brown-beige combination seen on the outgoing model. The 3-spoke steering wheel is now an all black unit and gets a new Chevrolet bow-tie logo with the trademark gold colour. The illumination on the instrument cluster has also changed from orange to blue on the updated model. The fit and finish looks much better than the outgoing version and the new colour scheme has certainly added some taste to the otherwise bland cabin of the Sail.

In addition to the changes inside, the Sail will also get chrome enhancements across the exteriors for a premium appeal. The fog lamps get chrome bezels, while the boot-lid gets a horizontal chrome slat resting between the tail lights. The updated model will also see the Sail hatchback lose the U-VA suffix from its name (which is a good thing). Engine options include the same 1.2-litre 4-cylinder petrol motor producing 86 PS at 6000 RPM and 113 Nm of torque at 5000 RPM. Diesel duty is performed by the 1.3-litre Multijet mill producing 78 PS at 4000 RPM and 205 Nm of torque at 1750 RPM. Both the powerplants come paired to a 5-speed manual transmission.
