You read it first on MotorBeam. Mahindra has commenced bookings of the new Scorpio facelift which will be launched on 25th September 2014. The automaker calls the new model as the “New Generation Scorpio”. The 2015 Mahindra Scorpio will be offered in 5 variants – S2, S4, S6, S8 and S10. The new Scorpio isn’t just a cosmetic job, it features a new hydroformed chassis but the construction is the same ladder-frame. Among other mechanical changes is the all new 5-speed gearbox (on the mHawk engined model) which is expected to be much smoother in shifts than before.

Mahindra will offer the “New Generation Scorpio” in 5 colours – Fiery Black, Mist Silver and Diamond White with two new colours now added to the palette – Regal Blue and Molten Red. The vehicle is offered with two engine options which are the same as before. The 2.5-litre m2DiCr motor outputs 75 BHP of power and 200 Nm of torque. This engine is rated by ARAI to deliver 14 km/l and the claimed 0-60 km/hr time is a lethargic 11.2 seconds. The other engine is the 2.2-litre mHawk unit which outputs 120 BHP and 290 Nm of torque. The ARAI mileage is rated at 15.4 km/l while 0-60 km/hr takes 5.7 seconds as per the company.

Mahindra offers both 2 and 4-wheel drive versions of the Scorpio.
