2015 Maruti DZire Production Ready
The 2015 DZire gets 10-spoke alloys, chrome garnish on grille and bumper

Maruti Suzuki is surely planning a mega upgrade drive this festive season with most of its best selling models scheduled to launch with a facelift. The automaker has plans to launch the all-new Ciaz sedan followed by the Swift and Alto K10 facelift and also the DZire compact sedan upgrade during the last quarter of the year. With the launch date still far from sight, Maruti has commenced production on the new DZire as seen in the new spy shots. The car gets a host of upgrades for the 2015 model year.

Starting with the exteriors, the spy shots showcase the new 10-spoke alloy wheels, chrome garnish on the grille and subtle revisions to the front and rear bumper. There is also the inclusion of chrome bezels on the fog lamps. You will also get push-button start, keyless entry and power folding ORVMs on the top-end variants, while reverse parking sensors could also be offered as a standard feature. With the upgrades, the DZire will be further distinguishable from the Swift and will also look a bit premium compared to the outgoing model. A simple and clean look the compact sedan has always maintained, it will be interesting to see whether the customers like the oodles of chrome that’s been added to the DZire.

Engine options are expected to be the same and the 2015 Maruti DZire will continue to be powered by the 1.2-litre K-Series petrol motor producing 85 PS of power and 114 Nm of torque, while diesel duty is performed by the 1.3-litre DDiS engine producing 75 HP and 190 Nm of torque. Both the engines are paired to a 5-speed manual transmission, while the petrol also gets an automatic unit as an option. With new entrants like the Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent and Tata Zest posting impressive numbers, the updates will help Maruti retain market share in the compact sedan segment. Expect a price revision on the facelifted model.
