2015 Bajaj Avenger 220 Range Launched, Priced From Rs. 84,000/- [Live]

The new 2015 Bajaj Avenger range comprises of two cosmetically-enhanced variants while power continues to come from the same 220cc single-cylinder DTS-i motor.

The Avenger Cruise 220 gets various changes over the old Avenger

Updating its silent soldier, Bajaj Auto has officially launched the 2015 Avenger 220 Cruise and 220 Street in the country with both the models priced at Rs. 84,000/- (ex-showroom, Delhi). In its latest avatar, the automaker has segregated the Avenger into two new variants that get cosmetically enhanced to look different and appeal to a wider base of customers. The automaker see’s leisure cruising as a major segment in the coming years.

In terms of upgrades, the 2015 Bajaj Avenger 220 models comes with new brand insignia and new graphics among a host of other upgrades. The 220 Cruise retains the styling from the outgoing Avenger but is now induced in chrome and comes with a well padded and wider backrest, wider rear tyre, raised handlebar and optional windshield for easy cruising. The Bajaj Avenger 220 Street gets a more stealthy looking appearance with a matte black and brushed silver finish.

The 220 Street comes with lower and flatter handlebar, matte black finish on the engine, new grab rail instead of the backrest, alloy wheels and fork gaiters. In addition, both the models get an improved rear suspension, bright white headlight, clear lens indicators and low slung seats with thicker dual density foaming for added comfort.

In terms of mechanicals, power on the 2015 Bajaj Avenger twins continues to come from the same 220cc oil-cooled, single-cylinder DTS-i engine that produces 19 PS at 5400 RPM and 17.5 Nm of torque at 7000 RPM, paired to the same 5-speed gearbox. The cruiser measures 2177 mm in length, 806 mm in width and 1142 mm in height with a wheelbase of 1490 mm. The ground clearance stands at 169 mm while the fuel tank capacity is measured at 14-litres. Suspension duties are performed by telescopic front forks and twin shocks at the rear while braking performance comes from the 260 mm disc at the front and a 130 mm drum unit at the rear.
